Loungewear!!!

As we all know, 2020 has been a weird one to say the least.

Thanks to a global pandemic, having to self isolate means working from home has become the new norm for businesses and universities across the world. Therefore, everyone is getting around the loungewear trend!

However, with things starting to settle a bit more here in QLD with restrictions easing up, the novelty of wearing loungewear is still yet to wear off on me. Although I still love getting dressed up when going out, while i’m at home I am still reaching for my comfiest clothes, (although I may dress up a little for my zoom meetings just for the fun of it).

Now, although it may be tempting to stay in your pj’s all day because you don’t have to leave the house, I personally feel way more accomplished and ready to start the day once i’ve exercised, showered and put some clothes on. Hence, during this global pandemic I have stocked up on heaps of loungewear!

So here a few of my favourite loungewear pieces I have collected over the past few months. And of course, I have not comprised cute for comfy.

1. The Knit Set

This one has to be my favourite piece being a cropped jumper and shorts. The shorts are high waisted which is perfect for me with an elasticated and draw string waist band for ultimate comfort. I love the cornflower blue colour of this set and as it has been cooler weather here in QLD, the lightweight knitwear was a must.

Outfit: Runway Scout

2. The playsuit

This white playsuit is one of the comfiest pieces I purchased. The ribbed material makes it super soft and stretchy, and the playsuit features a cute ruffled detailing across the hems. I love how you can tie it up around the waist, giving you a bit more shape and definition but still does’t dig into you.

Outfit: Princess Polly

3. Crop and Pants

This set is designed to be a boho festival style, but made into loungewear. Made from natural ribbed cotton, this crop and pant is in a natural beige hue with the crop featuring buttons down the centre which I think is a really cute touch. Both the crop and pants also have ruffled detailing across the hems which make it that extra bit girly which I adore! I also like to add a long lengthen knot cardigan with this set for extra warmth.

Outfit: Sabo Skirt

Being stuck at home doesn't mean you have to sacrifice your style! There are so many loungewear pieces out there that are comfy but still on trend! I never really owned any loungewear as such until now, but I think my love for it is here to stay.

1 Set.. 3 Ways

The co-ord set has to be one of my favourite fashion styles. It’s simple, easy to style and in my opinion, they are just so darn cute!

I own so many sets myself and never get sick of them. Whether its a mini skirt and crop, jumper and shorts, pants and a top, you name it I have it. They are the easiest outfit to put together because there is no guessing. And you won’t have to tear your wardrobe apart trying to find the perfect match because guess what? You already have it!

So yes, I love sets for their ease of wearing being a whole outfit in one (minus the accessories of course). BUT, you can also style them separately which makes buying a set 100 times better. Because really, you're getting three outfits for the price of one, who doesn’t want that?

One set I am absolutely loving at the moment is this adorable little knit crop and mini skirt. This set is everything I love and more. The top is a halter neck which I adore as it just adds a bit more shape and is really flattering on the body. While the skirt is high-waisted which is a must for me with an elasticated waist so its super flexible. Both pieces are a fairy floss pink and white (my two favourites) with a textured knit and contrast rib panels which adds a bit of personality, creating that ‘cool and effortless look’.

When it comes to wearing your set, there are three ways you can do so. Here are the three ways I have chosen to style mine:

Style 1:

So obviously the first way to style your set is to wear it together. Simple, effortless, put it on, find a pair of cute shoes and a bag and you're ready to head out the door. Couldn’t be easier. I have dressed it down with sneakers for a more casual daytime look, however swapping them out for a pair of heels easily transforms the outfit from day to night.

Style 2:

There are endless options for styling the top of your set. Whether you pair it with a different skirt, shorts, denim, knit pants, you can be as creative was you want. Here I have paired my top with some high waisted white trousers. I like these two together as the smooth texture of the pants adds a nice contrast to the knit top whilst still keeping the white colour to match. Alternatively, jeans or a denim skirt would also work really well for a more casual look.

Style 3:

As i’m working with a knit mini skirt, here I have paired it with a white knit jumper. Once again, I’m keeping with the white theme as I think it looks best, however black would work too or even a subtle pattern. I’ve added the french tuck with the jumper just add a little definition (this works for all body types and makes the outfit a little more dressy). In the warmer weather however, I would definitely pair the skirt with a white bandeau, bodysuit or an embroidered shirt to mix and match textures!

The options really are endless when it comes to styling. As much as wearing it together is the easiest option, don't be afraid to step out and try styling your set with other tops and bottoms. Have some fun with it!

Summer Lovin'

Hello old friends,

I know its been a while but i am back in full swing and ready to share some fun, summer-loving fashion to get you through the heat.

When the temperature starts to sky rocket, I find letting a single item of clothing do all the talking is the way to go. It is the easiest way to stay cool and perfect your seasonal fashion, therefore summer dresses are a must.

In the midst of summer, I pretty much live in dresses day in and day out. No need to spend time coordinating separates, just throw on a dress, find a cute pair of shoes and a bag and bang, you are good to go.

One dress in particular that has become a staple in my summer wardrobe is my LWD (little white dress). Full of ruffles, layers and a hand embroidered panel, this dress is perfect for all your summer festivities. Paired with sandals for a casual look, or glam it up with heels for a night out, this dress is full of versatility and will suit any occasion. Not to mention, the dress features an open back with tie detail to keep you easy breezy. What more could you want? It is absolutely, completely, undoubtedly one of my favourite dresses ever (because picking just one is too hard).

Another reason why dresses are the epitome of summer fashion is because they allow you to show off your beautiful feminine figure. Truth be told, we are so much harsher on ourselves than we should be and with summer bringing out the worst in body confidence, it’s easy to fall into a trap of body insecurity. Thankfully fashion has no rules, so girls forget about your silly little insecurities because nothing should stop you from wearing something you love. Never compare yourself to others and be confident with who you are.

Look Good. Do Good. Feel Good.

Thats all for now, until next time,
